Clouds and Climate
The Romps Group at the University of California, Berkeley
Hiring a Postdoctoral Researcher
There is currently a postdoctoral position open in atmospheric dynamics, with emphasis on cloud-resolving modeling. Formal applications are being received through Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, adjacent to the UC Berkeley campus, through the online
Taleo system (search for keyword "romps"). Unfortunately, the kinks are still being worked out in that online system, so please just send a CV and cover letter to David Romps directly at romps@berkeley.edu. (If you have already submitted an application through Taleo, that is sufficient.)
Accepting Graduate Students
Prospective PhD students are encouraged to contact David directly to inquire about our ongoing projects in the theory of fluid turbulence, high-resolution numerical simulation, and the use of satellite data. Applications to UC Berkeley's Department of Earth and Planetary Science are typically due in December for admission to the graduate program in the fall. For details, see the EPS page on
graduate admissions.
Seeking Undergraduate Interns
Undergraduates who are interested in doing research on atmospheric dynamics should ask David about working on a research project during the academic year. URAP opportunities are available.
